Donor Recognition

Membership in the College’s Lifetime Giving Societies is based on cumulative outright gifts in support of Coker College. Donors become a part of Coker’s rich history, heritage and legacy. This provides a means to honor and recognize our most generous supporters.

Members are invited into one of seven societies named in honor of benefactors who shaped the College’s history and continue to shape its future.

$2,000,000 – Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Society

Named for Elizabeth Boatwright Coker in honor of her and her family’s loyal support of Coker College. Members of this society are recognized for lifetime gift support of $2,000,000 or more.

$1,000,000 – Charles W. & Elizabeth H. Coker Society

Named for Charles W. and Elizabeth H. Coker in honor of their loyal support of Coker College. Members of this society are recognized for lifetime gift support of $1,000,000 or more.

$500,000 – Joe & Betty Wiggins Society

Named for Joe and Betty Wiggins in honor of their loyal support of Coker College. The Wiggins were very involved in the life of Coker College, Kalmia Gardens and the Hartsville area. Members of this society are recognized for lifetime gift support of $500,000 or more.

$250,000 – Linville Family Society

Named for the Linville Family in honor of their loyal support of Coker College. Susanne Gay Linville was part of the Coker family, and the Susanne G. Linville Dining Hall is named for her. Members of this society are recognized for lifetime gift support of $250,000 or more.

$100,000 – William & Mary Coker Joslin Society

Named for William and Mary Coker Joslin in honor of their loyal support of Coker College and Kalmia Gardens. Members of this society are recognized for lifetime gift support of $100,000 or more.

$50,000 – Hannah Lide Coker Society

Named for Hannah Lide Coker in honor of her brave journey across enemy lines to rescue Major James Lide Coker during the Civil War. Members of this society are recognized for lifetime gift support of $50,000 or more.

$25,000 – James D. Daniels Society

Named for Coker’s long-time president who served from 1981-2002. Members of this society are recognized for lifetime gift support of $25,000 or more.

The President’s Circle recognizes alumni and friends who make significant gifts to Coker College.

Membership is renewable annually and is based on an individual’s giving record for the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). Corporate matching gifts are included in the donor’s gift total.

The seven levels of the President’s Circle are designated as follows:

FOUNDERS

The highest level of the President’s Circle is comprised of donors recognized as Founders whose annual giving totals $5,000 or more.

TRUSTEES

Donors whose annual giving totals $2,000 - $4,999 are recognized as President’s Circle Trustees.

LEADERSHIP

Donors are honored as Leadership Society members if their annual giving totals $1,000 - $1,999.

Donors qualify as a member of the 1908 Society within the President’s Circle if their annual giving totals $1,908.

PARTON

Donors are honored as a Patron of the President’s Circle if their annual giving totals $500 - $999.

BELL TOWER

Donors whose annual giving totals $300 - $499 are recognized as Bell Tower members of the President’s Circle.

CENTURY

Donors whose annual giving totals $100 - $299 are recognized as Century members of the President’s Circle.
